Your Shape – New Virtual Fitness Game For The Wii!

ubisoft

Well, folks, it’s here!  The brand new product everyone has been talking about and anticipating – Your Shape by Ubisoft!

The official release date is tomorrow, November 24,2009 and people are already talking about picking one up this week!  The Wii Mommies were given advanced copies of the game to review for all of you upon it’s release and before I show you my quick two minute video showing my profile set up and body scan, I’m going to tell you what I think of the product.

I for some reason thought it would scan my body and then I could do whatever work out I wanted while it scanned what I was doing.  That’s not what this does.  This product actually scans your body (watch when it asks you to confirm your height and weight – it knew my height exactly and my weight was off by only two pounds!) and it gives you a workout depending on the area you want to work on, the type of work you want to do and how hard you want to do it.

Your Shape also has some great extra options included that I’m excited to try out.  While you can work out based on specific areas you’d like to tone or get a whole body workout, you can also choose from extra options.  They have a three week program for mothers, a routine to get your body bikini ready, one for peace of mind and stress and another routine to help you fulfill your New Year’s resolutions.

The only issue I had was that it seemed to not register my movements when my kids were in the room.  I did a quick 15 minute workout and it absolutely got my heart pumping and body sweating, but once my kids tried busting on in to see themselves on the screen, the camera couldn’t properly register my movements, which absolutely makes sense.

I like that it has the option to be played both on the Wii or on your computer, so if I’m going somewhere and don’t want to bring a Wii, I can just work out using my laptop.  I love that it features jenny McCarthy, because I adore her but I need to get that song “Umbrella” out of my head, because once I get a song stuck in my head, it’s stuck there forever.

You can pre-order Your Shape today and the product comes out tomorrow, with the approximate retail value at $69.99.  You can use your own products (or none at all) to work out, so if you have free weights gathering dust, feel free to bring them out and incorporate them into your workout!

Expect to hear more about this from The Wii Mommies over the next few days and weeks, along with a possible “Your Shape” party on Twitter and MomTV complete with live streaming video and giveaways.  You can also check out the video I just made before sitting down to write this showing my body scan and how it works.  I am NOT wearing makeup and have NOT taken a shower yet today, so be glad you can’t smell me and go easy on me.
