Video Game Review of Cooking Mama
In Cooking Mama World Kitchen, the Wii sequel in the Cooking Mama Franchise, Mama brings a lot more the the table, including all new 3D graphics, new recipes like chocolate chip cookies and burgers, fun kitchen mini-games and lots more!
Your Wii remote is the universal cooking utensil when playing this game. It took me a second to get the hang of it but my 4 year old picked it up right away. From stirring, chopping, rolling and grating the ingredients for your recipe.
Jake has taken a new interest in cooking with this game. He especially loved to make the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies in the game, and watching him measure, mix and place the cookies on the tray inspires me to make some with him for real with him. He’s learning not to stir too fast lest he make a huge mess and how proper measurement is key when preparing a tasty meal.
Cooking Mama World Kitchen has three game modes, including Cooking with Mama where you can learn kitchen basics under Mama’s watchful eye and earn yourself gold, silver and bronze medals based on how well you cook.
There’s a ‘Let’s Cook’ section where you can share your prepared meals with Mama’s friends and they’ll judge the meal you made and you can enter a cooking contest by teaming up with a real friend or make one in the game and prepare ingredients together.
You can also find comedic mini-games where you can flip a burger in the air and a dog will run in and snatch it away or you can toss a pancake and control Mama as she runs in to save it with an apron catch.
Save the fun surprise animations in an album you can review anytime after game play. You can even choose to reply mini-games that you saved in the album.
Overall, I think it’s a great game with a cute Mama leading the way to your little one cooking in the kitchen.

A cooking game is not something I had in mind but my daughter would definitely love it. I like your tag line “Raise em right and avoid the fight”. Definitely.
