Steven Spielberg’s Boom Blox

boom-blox

WOW!  Do you want to play a game that’s not only fun for the entire family, but works your arm and coordination as well?  Steven Spielberg’s EA Game Boom Blox is one of my new favorite games to play with my son!

Even when I’m left exhausted and sweating from the upcoming EA SPORTS Active 30 Day Challenge I’m participating in, I still find myself putting in the Boom Blox I received from EA so I can play with or against members of my family, the objective being either to keep structures made of blocks from being knocked down or to knock them over by various means, using the Wii Remote to throw, shoot, and grab at the blocks.

Boom Blox features a realistic physics system; the angle at which a projectile is launched and how fast it is thrown as well as the mass of the projectile and the type of blocks it comes into contact with influence the results of an action.  You have to point the Wii Remote where you think you’ll get the best shot and perform the required action (remember to always wear the wrist strap!) to get the results you want.

The game has over 300 single-player levels as well as over 100 cooperative and competitive multi-player screens. Additionally, there is a mode that allows players to create their own levels and share them with people added to their Friend Code list via WiiConnect24.  I’m already thinking about adding a section in the Wii Mommies Forum to see if anyone else has this and wants to play!

Boom Blox retails for just $39.99 and you can have HOURS of game play with your kids ages 3 and up.  It helps kids improve aim, accuracy and patience as they focus on the task at hand, all while playing competitively against you or learning team work as you accomplish your goals together.  With this many options and Steven Spielberg behind it, you can’t go wrong!
