The Princess Bride Video Game

key_art

Yep, you read that right-there is a PRINCESS BRIDE VIDEO GAME!

When I was given the opportunity to review this game I practically jumped through my email to the lovely person on the other side offering it to hug her.  This is one of my all-time favorite movies and the fact that it’s back in a game (rated E for Everyone) warms my heart.

There are some movies that should never be forgotten and watched by every generation.  By creating The Princess Bride Video Game, the tech-savvy kids of today are gaining a new interest in watching the movie and their parents (ME!) get to take part in playing as well.

To be totally honest, I ended up booting my kid off the computer and I played it myself for 2 hours.  Bad Mommy!  I couldn’t help it!  It has the original cast voices of Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn and Robin Wright Penn.  Hearing Wesley say ‘As you wish’ tickles me pink!

To quote directly from the game site-

“The Princess Bride Game combines spectacular animation with the best of casual, narrative and adventure games – all based on the classic hit movie. Help Princess Buttercup and Westley manage life on the farm, defeat dastardly villains, survive the Fire Swamp, concoct miracle remedies, and vanquish the evil prince in order to live happily ever after.

I had such a great time playing this game.  My son found it entertaining and it taught him about following directions and utilizing time managment.  You can demo the game here and at only $9.99, the game is perfect for hours of play on your computer!
