Nature’s Own Introduces New Slim Bakery Items

So a few weeks ago, I was sent some of the new Nature’s Own Slim Bakery Items to review.  At the time, I was expecting to be on a liquid diet due to an expected operation, so I was very excited to give these items a try.

It was lunch time and I decided to try the Thin-Sliced Bagels.  I know I never have Cream Cheese in the house so I said to myself, “PLEASE let me find a sample in my fridge” and to my surprise, I did!  I have a bottom section in my door where I throw random items and at some point, I must have put a single serve in there.

I would have eaten it with just butter but I was so excited I even posted a Facebook update about my joy!  It came out perfect.  The outside was lightly browned (I’m not the best when it comes to a toaster) and the inside was exactly what a bagel should be.  To quote Nature’s Own -

Nature’s Own is encouraging consumers to “think thin” when it comes to their bagels. The Thin Sliced Bagels are perfect for consumers  who desire bagels that have the same great taste and texture of conventional bagels with fewer calories.

Like standard bagel products, Thin Sliced Bagels are 4” in diameter and fit nicely into toasters. However, with only half the height of traditional bagels.

Nature’s Own Thin Sliced Bagels contain a mere 140-150 calories per serving, compared to the average 300 calories packed into standard bagels. This new bakery product is available in eight count packages  of Original and 100% Whole Wheat varieties.

Then came the Sandwich Rounds.  I have a 2 year old son who used to eat just about anything but has since seemed to decide to stick to mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets and those little o’s in sauce (he prefers the generic version – yay!

The second I pulled a Sandwich Round out of the box, he started pointing at it so I thought I’d offer him one, not knowing what to expect.  Let me tell you what, I did NOT expect what happened.  That kid ate three of them and thank goodness there was more than one package because he cleaned that first one right out.  I like to quote the company description because they explain it much better than I do so here is what Nature’s Own has to say about their Sandwich Round’s-

Nature’s Own created a versatile alternative to traditional sandwich  breads and rolls in the form of Sandwich Rounds, the 100-calorie,  whole grain solution for those who desire slimmer sandwich options.

Perfect for deli and salad sandwiches, burgers, breakfast toast, mini pizzas and other combination’s, Sandwich Rounds provide delicious new ways for consumers to create the meals they crave.

At only 100 calories per round, they make healthy eating simple for calorie-conscious consumers and those who simply want less bread with meals. Available in eight-count packages with a convenient resealable zipper, Nature’s Own Sandwich Rounds come in two varieties-
100% Whole Wheat and Healthy Multi-Grain.

As one of the Co-Founders of  The Wii Mommies community, I’m going to highly encourage the members to consider these products as a healthy alternative to traditional breads and bagels.   Nature’s Own can be found in supermarket bread aisles and other retail stores in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and  Southwest.
