I enjoy reading books to my two oldest children while baby K is on my lap...even the hubby sits near us too, unless he is already snoring on the couch. It is amazing the LOVE you feel when you are doing something as simple as reading a book together on the family couch. The children's eyes sparkle and you can tell they are truly happy and love to have your attention, even if it's for a short children's book. My mother in law bought lobster and crab cakes a while back. She couldn't prepare it herself. She also knew that I could and would prepare it. I always am the first to offer to cook for the family! Mom knows she can rely on me just like you are relied on.
