Hasbro Family Game Night Wii Game from EA Games

19089_400x230_1

I am the Yahtzee master.  I can’t play Connect 4 to save my life.  I am NEVER Sorry when I knock you back to Start.

All of our favorite games we played as kids are now available in one handy dandy little disc brought to you by Hasbro and EA Games for the Nintendo Wii.  No more lost dice or scattered chips.  When you go to keep score, you don’t have to try to re-use the score card in the Yahtzee game by tracing it on to a notebook or blacking the old scores out and writing the new ones next to it.  You don’t even have to do Math anymore, it’s all done for you!

I SUCK at Math.  I won’t even pretend that I don’t.  In this high tech world, there’s a reason calculators are everywhere.  How many times have you played Yahtzee and everyone fought for about a half an hour, passing the score card around to add the scores?  What about the Upper Level Bonus?  I’ve actually not gotten credit for it before because I forgot to carry a one and thought I didn’t have enough points.

You can play CONNECT FOUR, BATTLESHIP (as in ‘You sunk my’), YAHTZEE, BOGGLE (I’ll crush you), SORRY! (I never am) and the all new, SORRY! Sliders.   I never understood Battleship before, and we’d always lose the tiny little pieces or they’d scatter on the floor and one would end up lodged in my foot and I’d have a submarine impression in my heel for days.  With the Hasbro Family Game Night game for the Wii, everything is right where you need it and the instructions are easy to understand.

No more fighting over rules and pulling out the Instructions.  The rules are programmed in the game and it won’t let you cheat (Stef).  Up to 4 people can play and everyone gets their own room to decorate where all your throphies are stored.  I have a lot of trophies.  I’m the Yahtzee & Boggle master.

I will say this, it doesn’t matter if I play live or on the Wii, I stink at Connect 4.  Play as I might, something in my brain freezes and I’m completely unable to make a logical move.  I will persevere!  Someday, I will perfect my Connect 4 (and ability to wink) skills, and I WILL PERSEVERE!

Everyone is talking about this game.  I brought it to my Mother’s when I was on my ‘Vacation’ in NY and everyone was excited to play.  While partying with the Wii Fit Mommies on Twitter the other day, we got into a great discussion about this game and it seems everyone wants to get a hold of it!  For around $39.95, you can bring back all the games of your youth and enjoy them with your friends and family.

Check out the EA website for more info on this and other great games offered and look for my Video Review of EA’s Boogie Superstar Karaoke/Dance game.  Once I get over this sinus infection, I’m going to sing and dance for you.  I also plan on taking my favorite song and dance to an actual bar and I’m gonna sing it live (and Vlog that, if I can get Jody to record it for me)!  Stay tuned!

No, you’ll never learn to wink… I think the spot in your brain that handles that is currently being used to store an in-human amount of Boggle & Yahtzee skills that mere mortals do not possess.

  • Jody says:

I do believe you just may be able to convince me to record it for you. If it means a front row seat…….. I may even succumb to some of my own humiliation for the cause. *wink*wink* LUVINS!

  • Stacy says:

I’m glad you reviewed this game, I’ve looked at it in the store and wondered if it was any good. I guess I’ll be adding that to our Wii game collection.

I love connect four. I have had my eye on this game. Isn’t Wii the greatest?

I think I may have to talk hubby into getting a Wii system?? Have read several srticles about all the Wii related injuries coming into the ERs around the US the last 6 months! Be careful everyone! Our kids are grown – but Nintendo was all the rage then – ha! Love hearing about someone else who loves Yahtzee! We used to play it all the time!

  • Julie says:

Nintendo has a health and safety disclaimer on it’s site to help prevent that very thing. The Wii is a very interactive gaming system and like any activity, there is a chance for injury if not used properly. Be sure to check out Nintendo.com for more information and consult your health professional before beginning any new exercise routine!

  • This was the only Wii game we didn’t like and thought it was a waste of money. We traded it in at Gamestop and got about $5 trade in value.

    My favorite Wii games are
    WiiFit
    Animal Crossing
    Monopoly
    Wii Play

  • Very interesting entry to read on.. I am truly impressed with this post. Looking for future posts.
