Review: The RADIUS Intelligent Toothbrush

My husband has a thing about brushing his teeth. He loves to be told how long they should be brushed.  We have a toothbrush that turns off automatically but it doesn’t specify how long each section of the mouth should be brushed.  I however, have a REALLY weird thing about teeth.  I can’t stand being around someone who does it and I can’t look at myself while brushing, I have the water running while I do and I also have to have an electronic one to further block out the sound.  To me, the sounds of brushing teeth gives me goosebumps and is like nails on a chalkboard.  Totally unrelated to this review, but I knew there’d come a time when I’d mention that quirk and this happens to be the time.

So check this out. With a built in 2-minute timer and 30-second quadrant timer to help you comply with recommended brush time and technique, the RADIUS Intelligent manual toothbrush guides people to brush for the appropriate time as recommended by the American Dental Association. Included is a 3-month wear meter to signal time for a new replaceable head, and the smart non-slip re-usable handle reduces waste by 93% and is guaranteed for 4 years.

That is awesome. (more…)

Beat The Heat With Lanacane’s Anti-Chafing Gel

Just in time for all your warm-weather activities, Lanacane™ Anti-Chafing Gel is now available in the United States

Ugh.  Thinking back to the days I used to walk around in shorts, I remember my thighs rubbing against each other and I’d be miserable because they’d hurt so bad.  The friction created by constantly rubbing your skin together is so uncomfortable.  I remember trying to use lotion to help with the friction and I wished there was a product on the market that would help me with this problem. Since I couldn’t find anything to help, I wore skirts to avoid the feeling of the shorts irritating my skin but in this summer heat because I felt like everyone could see the irritation and I was super embarrassed about it. Even wearing my cute little skirts caused irritation because of the stinkin’ heat making my thighs sweat, henceforth causing the same discomfort but with less embarrassment. (more…)

The Douchebag Is Back

There’s no way humanly possible I can write a douche review without being vulgar and potentially hilarious. They gave me permish to go all Julie on this one. If this will offend you and cause your eyes to set on fire, stop reading now.

I’ve had various douche conversations over the years. I make fun of people, I still laugh at the classic “Not so fresh feeling” commercial and have heard the ever famous “douching will kill your vagina” speeches dozens of times. I’m not a douche-pro but I’m sure I had some douche-tastic “Gettin’ the love-jizz cleared out from wake up sex so I wouldn’t leak jizz all day” situation but with all the scary douche talk, we all tend to just let the jizz leak out.

Then WaterWorks sent me an email saying that the FDA approved their douche and asked me if I could review it. I said yes for two reasons. First of all, I can now tell people they’re wrong since the FDA is diggin’ it and secondly, this review has brought so many new douche terms into my life I felt it was my personal obligation to share them all with you. I hyphenated all the ones I plan on using in the future (i.e. “douche-tube”). (more…)

Clarisonic Mia Review and Limited Edition Giveaway! CLOSED

MIA-back-group-final-warm lo resI hate my skin.  I hate it.  I’ve always had oily skin, which my mother tells me will greatly benefit me when I’m older, because I’ll get fewer wrinkles but I am so self conscious about the way I look that I wouldn’t ever let anyone (friends, boyfriends, husbands, etc lol…) touch my face.

A little while back, I had the opportunity to review the Clarisonic Plus Skin Care System & Spot Therapy Kit which was created by the primary inventor of the famous Sonicare toothbrush.  The Therapy Kit is pure heaven.  You can check out that review here.

If you read me often (or at all, which you must since you’re seeing this), you may know I travel constantly.  I’m either at a conference or headed back up North to visit my family and it’s a little hard to bring the kit along with me.  The kit is for the face and body, so I keep it on the charger in my bathroom and use it when I want to give myself the extra lovin’ I deserve in the bath or shower.

Lucky for me, the good folks at Clarisonic noticed the amount I travel and asked if I’d like to try out the Mia.  Here’s a product overview-

Make a “skinvestment” for the New Year with the new stocking-sized MIA.  Well suited for travel or everyday use, Clarisonic is offering free personalization and free gift ($65 value) with purchase if you order through Clarisonic.com.

Lightweight and compact, Mia gently and effectively cleanses your face at home or on the go. Mia is perfect for wherever life takes you – at the gym or while traveling. The one-button, one-speed, one-minute Mia offers quick results that complement any skin care ritual leaving skin looking beautifully healthy.

Mia’s unique compact pLinkâ„¢ power link charger magnetically attaches to the handle and allows for a full 20 minutes of use.  The rechargeable brush is completely waterproof, making it perfect for use in the tub or shower.  Brush heads are interchangeable with other Clarisonic skin cleansing models. You can make Mia your own by imprinting the handle with your name or personalized message at Clarisonic.com.

This little cleanser is fantastic!  I can pack it in my bag and go and I find myself using it quite a bit lately, especially since my hysterectomy has made my skin worse.

Enough about me, it’s time to treat YOU!  Clarisonic wants to pamper YOU!  They are offering one lucky reader a Limited Edition Clarisonic! (more…)

Smooth Away Your Money, Not Your Legs

smooth-away

I love infomercials.  I’m actually not allowed to watch them because I’m absolutely, 100% of the time convinced that I NEED THAT PRODUCT.  I once bought a lifetime supply of pens and lost them all within a month. I own (and love) the Scunci Steamer.  I bought Smooth Away.

I’m not what you’d call a “leg shaver”.  I avoid it at all costs.  I’m simply too lazy to do it.  Every day, to contort your body into all the different postitions to reach areas you’re not even sure you want people to see, risking dull blades or hot waxes in the name of beauty.  I’m not saying I’m a hippie with hairy legs, I just put it off for as long as humanly possible until either my husband complains that I’m catching up to him or I have to wear a skirt.

Well, summer is coming and with that means lots of dresses.  I’m not really into wearing shorts (lord knows, I’ve tried and failed there) but I wear a ton of skirts and dresses throughout the summer, so my winter “hibernation” must come to a close.

That’s why you couldn’t imagine my glee when I saw the commercial for the Smooth Away hair removal product.  “Removes Hair Instantly & Pain Free”  Can it really be?  I remember the days of Epilady and Nair, the agony of removing unwanted hair and the pain associated with it.  Could this be for real? (more…)
