Sometimes times I have super good luck (because I’m awesome).  I was just saying how I wished I had a second humidifier because I recently had my tonsils out and my doctor recommended that I use one to help heal my throat but my two and a half year old suddenly caught that nasty cold that has everybody coughing.  About two days later, I received an email from Vicks asking if I’d like to host a review and giveaway of their new Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier and asked if I’d also like to review the Braun Thermoscan Exac Temp Ear Thermometer while I’m at it and with Josh being sick I’d said you bet’cha!

And so they arrive (rather quickly, I might add – THANK YOU!) and I took the humidifier out of the box.  I’ve used other humidifiers before and I was a bit nervous because sometimes they’re tough to put together with a billion parts and filters but this one assembled in about two minutes.  My only problem was that I filled it up downstairs and carried the full tank up to the second floor and down the hall and if you know me, I’m not the most graceful person so I got a teensy bit wet. Okay so my baby making days are over since I lack the reproductive organs necessary but it seems that every time Macy’s contacts me to do a review and/or giveaway for their First Impressions gift sets I have a friend or relative who is about to or just had a baby.

This time around it was my next door neighbor and I scored BIG TIME when I showed up at the baby shower with this awesome trio.  She’s having a boy and instead of getting her a newborn gift set, I opted for a 3-6 month set because I know she has tons of new baby apparel and I just thought this was as cute as can be.

ME: Hi Mom.  I really want to thank you for all of your help so I got you this gift

MOM: Oh, we love it here!  We wanted to come anyway!  There’s no need for a gift (…gift is being unwrapped and *GASP!*) OH, JULIE!  Look at this!  Wow!  Would you look at this?  It’s BEAUTIFUL!  How did you do that?!  It’s BEAUTIFUL!  Oh, Al!  Look at this!  Isn’t it beautiful? (He agrees) It’s just great, I LOVE IT.  Boys, look at this!  Who is this?  It’s Jacob and Joshua!  That’s right!  It’s you!  Look how handsome my boys are!  What a wonderful picture!

So one day the doorbell rings and there’s my deliveryman standing there with a big old smile on his face.  He and I see each other often, as I am fortunate enough to be awesome at my job but this was a monster package.  This package was from Perdue.

Perdue, I like you.  I don’t just like you like you, I like you like you.  I had EIGHT BAGS of whole grain Perdue chicken nuggets delivered to my door.  I’m glad I have a lot of freezer space and I have to say, I don’t normally eat nuggets.  I buy them weekly because my children love them but I’ve never quite had a taste for them (unless I’m at a random fast food joint and I know I’m stuffing garbage into myself).

I LOVE THESE NUGGETS.  The first night, I made pasta and sauce.  I put the nuggets on the cool blue tray they sent along with them to use in the microwave that makes them come out crispy instead of soggy and I cut them up, mixed them with noodles and sauce and had an instant chicken parm.
