Baby Gifts are Yours for the Making with Makaboo.com

YAY, BABIES!

It’s amazing how it seems that everyone I know manages to get pregnant at the same time.  There will be a few months of regular life and BAM! Five women are expecting.

Everyone should know by now I can’t have anymore babies but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to review baby gear!  Talk about awesome, I get to have the joy of giving my expecting friends and family the best gifts on the planet for free!

When the folks over at Mâkaboo.com offered to have me review their product line, I was THRILLED with their timing. My cousin just have birth to a beautiful baby boy and he was born with medical complications.  He was a preemie with blood in his lungs.

Everyone wants to send along that perfect gift but in a situation as delicate as this, I wanted to send something truly special.  The offer to review the Mâkaboo.com line of personalized baby gifts came as soon as we knew our new addition was going to be okay and I wanted to send her something truly special. My Tagalongs DISPOSABLE UNDERWEAR.

YES.  I am absolutely not kidding you.  There is a company called My Tagalongs.  Before I tell you my story, I’m going to let them tell you who they are -

From the women who introduced the world to ready-to-wear disposable underwear, comes an exciting new line of 30 lifestyle accessories that are specifically designed to save time and make life a little easier. From purse organizers to tool cards, eco-chic totes to stackable jars for favorite creams, MYTAGALONGS has created a wealth of well-designed, practical accessories that can be conveniently stashed at the office, in the car or in a purse.

Now it’s my turn.  I was sent two things.  What you see above (I’ll get into THAT in a minute) and an ADORABLE little nylon purse organizer -

Pardon the pink behind it, I cropped the organizer out because that’s what I got with the thongs.

YES.  I SAID THONGS.  DISPOSABLE THONGS. (more…)

Once Again, First Impressions Baby Apparel Came Through For Me

I love Macy’s.  They have the BEST baby gifts ever.  If you’re looking for a layette, you can’t beat First Impressions.   Six years ago, I found out I was pregnant with my first son.  Once announced, people kept telling me I had to register for a layette set.  I had absolutely NO IDEA what that meant.  Even though I was married and 27, I was one of the first to get pregnant out of all my friends, so layette’s weren’t exactly something we talked about regularly.

Well then the months passed and I got to do the baby registry thing and I was happily zapping away.  THAT was when I learned what a layette was.

According to First Impressions,  a layette is made up of all the soft pieces your newborn needs for his or her fist days and weeks.  These include: (more…)

Kushyfoot Rocks My World

I’m going to start off by saying I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into when I opened a packaged for me to review filled with various Kushyfoot products. I saw all kinds of different things to try out, given I was sent a variety of items to try ranging from Flats-to-go,tights, trouser socks to yoga socks and more.

These are perfect for me for two reasons.  One, I’m a klutz and two, I like to dress up when I go out.

The first part I can actually backdate about two weeks ago to where I was walking through a store and my flip flop broke as I was halfway through the store. Looking back, I realize I could have just bought a new pair while I was there but I didn’t.  I shuffled my foot across the store until I got to checkout and then I took both flops off and walked to my car barefoot across the parking lot.

Not my best day. (more…)

Girls Become Designers at FashionPlaytes.com

FashionPlaytes

I never was blessed with a daughter, but am very grateful for my two rambunctious little boys.  It doesn’t mean I’m not a sucker for glitter and dresses, so when FashionPlaytes asked me if I was interested in checking out their new virtual design studio that empowers girls ages 6-12 to design and produce their very own clothing, I immediately thought of my fantastic friend Julie (I know, ironic we share the same name.  That’s why we’re so fabulous.) and her daughter Emily, I had to join in on the fun. The online platform let’s girls “play designer” and use their creativity to create custom clothes and accessories (complete with personalized labels!) that are delivered to their doorstep in just 3 weeks.

Once Emily was introduced to FashionPlaytes and shown the basic tips on how to operate the website and at just five years old, she went off on her own for hours, playing with different designs and creations to see the sparkles and designs she could make.  When it came time for Emily to actually decide what she’d like delivered to her door, she had her dress designed in just ten minutes.
