Home Farming – Join The Movement With Triscuit & WIN! CLOSED

Home Farming - Join The Movement With Triscuit

I don’t eat crackers, I’m not into chips and I have a limited cookie selection that I enjoy.  There is only one brand I can’t resist.  Triscuit.

My mother LOVES Triscuit.  My whole life, there’s always been a box around.  We like to put pepperoni on them and munch away.  If you want to have an explosion of awesome taste, take the Baked Whole Grain Wheat Rosemary & Olive Oil one and pair that with pepperoni.  *DROOL*

I can seriously sit down and have that for dinner and be happy.  It’s a hit at parties.  It’s what I buy for me and hide with the few other things I want people to keep their hands off of.

Recently, I was contacted by Triscuit to talk to all of you about the farming movement.  I was sent two boxes of Triscuits and a $20 visa gift card to give away to one of my readers.  Well, I’m giving the gift card away.  I already ate the Triscuits. (more…)

#Tweet4YWCA Campaign

The Allstate Foundation is partnering with the YWCA to support economic empowerment for domestic violence survivors by donating $1 for all tweets that include #Tweet4YWCA.

#Tweet4YWCA Campaign Details:

Please visit www.clicktoempower.org/tweet4ywca to tweet your support for domestic violence survivors.  The Allstate Foundation is donating $1 to the YWCA for every tweet that includes #Tweet4YWCA.  Help us raise $75,000 by tweeting as many times as you can through July 16, and encourage your community to do the same.

The Allstate Foundation supports domestic violence survivors through providing resources targeted to build financial independence and educating the public on how hard it is for people to leave an abusive relationship without economic resources. The YWCA was selected as the partner for this program because the YWCA has been in the forefront of most major movements in the United States, and is a pioneer in the empowerment of women, including economic empowerment.

For more information on #Tweet4YWCA, and to join the conversation now, please visit: www.clicktoempower.org/tweet4ywca

Domino Sugar & Share our Strength’s® Great American Bake Sale to help fight childhood hunger

For the third year in a row, Domino Sugar is the presenting sponsor for Share our Strength’s® Great American Bake Sale to help fight childhood hunger. The Great American Bake Sale raises money to fight childhood hunger across the U.S. by encouraging individuals, families, organizations and schools to hold bake sales and donate the profits to help Share our Strength provide millions of meals and snacks to America’s children.

As part of this campaign, Domino provided me with a $25 gift card to buy ingredients so I can buy the ingredients I needed to bake up some delicious goodies to have at our neighborhood bake sale and since it’s just too hot to have one here in South Carolina (believe me, we tried – we had the whole thing planned out and it was so hot we couldn’t have it), I’m giving away the gift card to one of my readers so they can host a bake sale of their own! ConAgra Food Foundation’s Champion Against Child Hunger

The following is a guest post from the ConAgra team in search of your support-

Diane Reeder, the founder and executive director of The Queens Galley in Kingston, N.Y., has been selected as the ConAgra Food Foundation’s Champion Against Child Hunger through our Facebook community vote!

The community selected Diane as our Champion (from our pool of 5 exceptional finalists) based on her outstanding work establishing and managing The Queens Galley, a not-for-profit organization providing meals to those in need and taking action to prevent child hunger in America.   The Queens Galley is open for three meals a day, 365 days a year, and serves more than 9,000 meals a month to children and families in need. The Queens Galley also creates and implements programs, including Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline, that teach families how to make nutritious meals on a limited budget.

Collectively, our Champions Against Child Hunger contest finalists received more than 80,000 votes, with each vote equaling a $1 donation from the ConAgra Foods Foundation to Share Our Strength. Diane won the community vote with more than 32,000 votes cast in her name. Combined with a previous $20,000 commitment from ConAgra Foods for consumer participation during the contest nomination period, ConAgra Foods will donate a total of $100,000 to Share Our Strength!

To learn more about Diane, as well as the extraordinary efforts of each of the finalists, please visit: ChampionsAgainstChildHunger.org
