Boom Blox Bash Party for the Nintendo Wii

I just got back from a quick vacation in Kansas to visit some friends and I realized something.  I LOVE VIDEO GAMES.

I LOVE video games.  I can admit that.  Love them.  My latest addiction is Boom Blox Bash Party given to me by the WONDERFUL people at EA.

Boom Blox Bash Party is the second “smash” hit (I had to) from EA and Steven Spielberg, after the hugely successful Boom Blox (reviewed it HERE).

Here are the key features of the game-

  • More Than 400 New Blox-Busting Levels – All-new explosive puzzle action builds upon your BOOM BLOX favorites while delivering tons of levels to explore, conquer and remix.
  • The Ultimate Party Experience – More multiplayer action than ever before. Play crazy new levels with or against friends in cooperative, competitive and the all-new team-based action.
  • Spectacular New Worlds – Beautiful themed worlds take you from mysterious planets to pirate coves and beyond. Battle giant squids or bash alien spaceships as you explore these stunning new environments.
  • New Blox. New Shapes. New Tools – From Cylinders and Paint Blox to the Virus Ball and the Slingshot, you won’t believe all the new ways to create chaos.
  • Wacky New Characters – Now the all-new cast of characters are part of the destruction. Throw, grab and launch characters for fun, or use them as part of your strategy.
  • New Rewards System – Collect Boom Bux throughout the game as you complete levels, then spend them jump ahead unlocking new levels and features you can’t wait to play.
  • Content Available Online – Connect your Wii to the Internet and download new levels quickly and easily. Design your own levels with the expanded Create Mode and share them with friends or submit them to be shared with the world.

The only thing I am not happy about is the fact that you can’t play online against your friends using the Wii Connect 24.  It’s neat that you can download different levels created by EA and various players across the world, because you will absolutely never run out of stuff to do, but I would love to be able to play against some of my friends in the Wii Mommies forum so EA, if you make a third (and I hope you do!) PLEASE allow online game play!

That said, this is by far my favorite strategy game of all time.  I am positively floored watching how my 4 year old son can improve his hand-eye coordination and deductive reasoning through game play.  Not only does he have to know what various buttons to press or when to make the throwing motion, but he has to figure out how best to aim to ensure he hits the target.

We got this game about 2 weeks ago and it has been on every day since.  I play alone and we play as a family.  My husband said he and Jake played for hours while I was recently out of town and the first thing I thought of this morning when it was just too hot to play outside was to play this.

You can take out your aggression by throwing bombs at towers, or work side-by-side with your child creating fun new levels and destroying them when you’re done.

Boom Blox Bash Party lists for $39.99 and will provide you with years of game play.  From under water adventures to blasting bombs in space, this is a game you and your family will enjoy together for hours of fun!
