This Isn’t Family-Friendly, But It’s FUN As Hell

resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wallpaper

I know I typically review games that are suitable for children, but this one is for me.  I hate guns.  I loathe violence.  Unless there are Zombie’s involved.  Then it’s AWESOME.

When I got my hands on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, I was thinking that it’d probably be a good game for my husband or guy friends to play. I played it as a kid (I consider anyone under 25 a kid) and  I knew my kids would never get near it, especially since they’re only four and one lol.  What I didn’t know is that I’d spend three whole days glued to my television, Wii blaster in hand, kicking some Zombie ass.

I don’t know what’s put me on the Zombie kick I’m on lately, I think it has to do with my love for the movie “Zombieland”.  Also, Zombie’s are cool.  When it comes to gaming, everyone has their favorites.  My husband loves racing games, my son Lego games (again, he’s four) and I typically lean towards the fitness games.  Until now. So What Do I Think Of EA SPORTS Active More Workouts?

ea sports active more workoutsI think that if you’re really looking to make a change to your life that will get you moving, in shape and constantly motivated to do better, you’ve found it with EA SPORTS Active More Workouts.

Virtual Fitness isn’t just a trend, it’s a way of life for a lot of us.  I personally don’t have the time or resources to go to a gym outside of my home and certainly can’t buy expensive equipment that would just gather dust anyway.  I turned to the Wii to help me with my health and in the past year have lost over 70 pounds.

I loved the first release of EA SPORTS Active because it was the first of it’s kind.  It’s a personal trainer in a box.  It offered up one and two player options and had a built-in 30 day challenge that I used to lose seven pounds in just a month!

Now EA SPORTS has come out with their second installment of workouts with EA SPORTS Active’s More Workouts and I love this more than anything else in the world right now.  Except my kids.  I love them tons.  They just don’t make me as skinny as this product does. (more…)

Your Shape – New Virtual Fitness Game For The Wii!

ubisoft

Well, folks, it’s here!  The brand new product everyone has been talking about and anticipating – Your Shape by Ubisoft!

The official release date is tomorrow, November 24,2009 and people are already talking about picking one up this week!  The Wii Mommies were given advanced copies of the game to review for all of you upon it’s release and before I show you my quick two minute video showing my profile set up and body scan, I’m going to tell you what I think of the product.

I for some reason thought it would scan my body and then I could do whatever work out I wanted while it scanned what I was doing.  That’s not what this does.  This product actually scans your body (watch when it asks you to confirm your height and weight – it knew my height exactly and my weight was off by only two pounds!) and it gives you a workout depending on the area you want to work on, the type of work you want to do and how hard you want to do it.

Your Shape also has some great extra options included that I’m excited to try out.  While you can work out based on specific areas you’d like to tone or get a whole body workout, you can also choose from extra options.  They have a three week program for mothers, a routine to get your body bikini ready, one for peace of mind and stress and another routine to help you fulfill your New Year’s resolutions. Nerf N-Strike Elite

nerf n-strike elite bundle wii

Anyone looking for a taste of awesome?  Nerf N-Strike Elite is where it’s at.  I’m not even kidding here, folks.  I was out of town on business and when I returned, I had a package waiting for me.  I told my roommate he could have opened it, because I knew it had to be something fun and when we ripped it opened and found it was the new Nerf N-Strike Elite, we both FREAKED out.

It was about Midnight and I had been flying all day but that didn’t stop me.  You wouldn’t believe how freakin’ cool this game is.  It can even be used when you’re not playing on your Wii!  NERF “N-Strike” Elite comes bundled with a NERF SWITCH SHOT EX-3 blaster that offers two ways to play. Players can snap the Wii Remote into the chamber of the blaster and use it for in-game play or alternatively, swap in the dart cartridge to transform the blaster for classic NERF play. The second accessory component is a brand new Red Reveal lens that attaches to the blaster and is used to uncover hidden messages within the game that allows players to find hidden unlock codes and expose enemy weak spots.

Awesome. (more…)
