Nintendo Personal Trainer: Walking

Next in line in the Personal Trainer Series is the new Personal Trainer: Walking for the Nintendo DS or DSi system.  It’s cool because it comes with two activity meters, so you can give one to a family member, friend or even attach it to your pooch so see what he’s up to during the day. If the number of steps you’ve recorded in one day exceeds your daily step target, the light on the Activity Meter will change from red to green. You can then transfer all the information from your meter onto your Nintendo DS or DSi.

My primary source of fitness is the Wii, it’s kind of what I’m known for.  When I was given Personal Trainer: Walking to test out, my first thought was “You mean, I have to WALK?”

Then I was talking to a friend about it and he pointed out that I don’t necessarily have to start power-walking around my neighborhood.  He just suggested I put it on to see what I actually accomplish in a day.  Accomplish in a day…hmmm…I know I go from my bed to the couch.  Then my couch to the kitchen to cook for the family and back to the couch to blog.  I get up to get on the Wii Fit and honestly, that’s where my personal fitness comes from so what walking do I actually do? I make no secret of the fact that I have a Guitar Hero family.  My husband, Ryan, refuses to even try the other musical games like Rock Band, because he feels the Guitar Hero series is the fist of its kind and all other pale in comparison.

When I got the opportunity from Mom Central, I got to try out Guitar Hero: On Tour, Modern Hits for the Nintendo DS, I was like “Sha-Zam!”

I didn’t even tell Ryan, I wanted him to see it for himself.  Within moments of walking in the door and seeing it on the counter, he started rockin’ out while my 4 year old started dancing around the kitchen. Continue Reading For More On
