Professor Parrot Language CD/DVD Giveaway! CLOSED

My son is a very talkative little man, he’s already picking up songs in Polish and does fairly well at counting in both English and Spanish.   He’s nearly four and his only fault is that his mind moves fast then his mouth so he finds himself having to repeat himself as he’s trying to find the right words he’d like to say.

I was contacted by the good people at Professor Parrot, a company that has been enriching lives since 1993 with CD’s and DVD’s that can help teach your children various languages from around the world.

Co-founders Beth Huddleston and Karen Yates met in the summer of 1984 while enrolled in an innovative German class that used the Lozanov method of left brain/right brain techniques, music and puppets to teach foreign languages to adults.  This class changed their lives and subsequently led to them revolutionizing the language industry by making available a way to teach languages by exposing children at an early age.

I received a Professor Parrot Sound Beginnings 2 CD set and a Professor Parrot DVD that makes Spanish fun!  We play the CD’s each night at bedtime after Jacob gets his nightly stories and the calming words and music soothe him to sleep while helping him to learn languages like Spanish, French, German, Russian and more! Great Gift for Mother’s Day-Green Nintendo DS Bundle

spring-ds-bundle

New for the Nintendo DS is a great way to bring mom into the modern world and help her out in the kitchen! To celebrate the season of growth and rejuvenation, Nintendo announces the blooming of a new Nintendo DS system color: Green. The cool new color comes bundled with a hip carrying case and a copy of the Personal Trainer: Cooking video game, which serves as an interactive cooking coach.

You can read my review of the game yourself to see what a great option this would be for mom to celebrate her day. The new bundle will be available on May 3, which just happens to be a week before Mother’s Day (hint, hint). Just like everyone else, moms are always looking for new and interesting meal ideas. Personal Trainer: Cooking includes more than 245 recipes from around the world, along with step-by step instructions for how to prepare them. (more…)

Guitar Hero Metallica & World Tour For The Nintendo Wii!

world-tour

Want to be a rock star yet you possess absolutely no talent?  Ever have a secret desire to be the Partridge family, only you want to rock harder and not live in a van?  With Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero Metallica (which can be used with the World Tour instruments), you can be a super star without leaving your house.  Play with friends and family at home and online across the country!

With Nintendo’s Wi-Fi connection, you can rock ’til you drop with friends all over the world, just like we did the other day at my house!  My husband and I took turns watching the kids and playing our good friend who lives hours away and it was like we were all together!

I was cracking up while my husband and our friend were competing against each other and my four year old son decided to pick up his play guitar and rock out himself.  Our one year old was loving the music (I have a firm belief that all males are born to love Metallica) and for a while there, my four year old even decided to play a bit himself. Steven Spielberg’s Boom Blox

boom-blox

WOW!  Do you want to play a game that’s not only fun for the entire family, but works your arm and coordination as well?  Steven Spielberg’s EA Game Boom Blox is one of my new favorite games to play with my son!

Even when I’m left exhausted and sweating from the upcoming EA SPORTS Active 30 Day Challenge I’m participating in, I still find myself putting in the Boom Blox I received from EA so I can play with or against members of my family, the objective being either to keep structures made of blocks from being knocked down or to knock them over by various means, using the Wii Remote to throw, shoot, and grab at the blocks. The little things you do for the ones you love

hallmark

What are some of the little things YOU do for love?  Do you snuggle up and read to your child every night?  Surprise your wife with flowers?  Have a special routine that means a lot to your family?

Last week, my joy came out of taking my kids to the park.  Josh is just starting to walk, and seeing the gleam in his eye on the slide and swing while his older brother ran around laughing just filled me with a sense of peace and love.

My family does little things for me as well, to show their love.  Last mother’s day, I woke to a beautiful porch swing for me to rock on with my kids and a greeting card that they signed all by themselves!  Granted, the baby needed help, but it was adorable to see the little scribbles on the beautiful card showing me they care.

I’m blessed to have two wonderful little boys, and one of the most important things we do for love is to remain strong in our faith.  To love each other and to love our God, we’ve formed a wonderful family tradition of attending mass together each week and having a peaceful lunch following it.  It fills me with a sense of love and completion, knowing these little ones rely on me so much and that I could create such beautiful babies from the strong bond of love I have with my husband.

What are the little things you do for love?  I’d love to hear your stories about you and your family or friends.  Every little gesture is noticed, people truly appreciate the time taken to show that you care.  Pick up the phone, send them a card or just give them a hug to let them know you care!
