Music Review-Motown’s Corneille

corneilleThe Birth of Cornelius

“Music has been the place where I could go to hide and forget about the world. I couldn’t make sense of a majority of the things that happened to me, so I used music as a shield. But over time, music has become a vehicle to channel out everything that I’ve been keeping from myself for all these years. And the new album is definitely the most honest, real assessment of everything that’s happened in my life, because I’m not trying to hide as much.”–Corneille

Here’s a treat for all of us mom’s out there-GROWN UP MUSIC!  It’s the 50th anniversary of Motown and as of March 10th, you can buy the smooth CD The Birth of Cornelius at Amazon now.

This CD is filled with smooth, soul seraching hits that everyone can listen to to relax and unwind.  Draw up a bubble bath, light some candles and put on this wonderful CD and RELAX.

Originally from Rwanda, this singer/songwriter/producer has had a number of hits in Canada, France and Japan and had been named one of the “hottest new stars” for 2009 by the New York Daily News.   The The Birth of Cornelius is Corneille’s English debut.

Karaoke Revolution: Presents American Idol Encore 2 w/Microphone

So I’d like to start by thanking my friend Marisa for giving me the confidence to get in front of my Newbaby.com camera and sing Bon Jovi.  Then I’d like to tell you all I can’t sing.  I thought it’d be fun to see what the judges of American Idol think of my voice, and they DID like me, it’s just me that doesn’t like me.

This weekend, I planned on having my friend Taylor over and we were going to get all dolled up and go nuts on the game and vlog the whole thing but my hubby is sick and it was Joshua’s first birthday, so I ended up doing it by myself this morning.  Funny thing is that I a) Realized I can’t sing and b) I’m still fat but I really LOVE this game! Video Game Review of Cooking Mama

51qsiamcil_sl160_

In Cooking Mama World Kitchen, the Wii sequel in the Cooking Mama Franchise, Mama brings a lot more the the table, including all new 3D graphics, new recipes like chocolate chip cookies and burgers, fun kitchen mini-games and lots more!

Your Wii remote is the universal cooking utensil when playing this game.  It took me a second to get the hang of it but my 4 year old picked it up right away.  From stirring, chopping, rolling and grating the ingredients for your recipe.

Jake has taken a new interest in cooking with this game.  He especially loved to make the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies in the game, and watching him measure, mix and place the cookies on the tray inspires me to make some with him for real with him.  He’s learning not to stir too fast lest he make a huge mess and how proper measurement is key when preparing a tasty meal. Rubbabu Fuzzy Animal Vehicle from Nico & Zoe

011

From Nico & Zoe Toys, my 12 month old recently had a chance to review the Rubbabu Fuzzy Animal Vehicle (Josh has the Worm- also available in Monkey, Hippo or Giraffe).

This soft, squishy toy is made entirely of 100% biodegradable, all-natural rubber.  Soft enough for your little one to push around and durable enough to last for years of play.  Although the material is not recommended for teething toddlers, Josh had a great time pushing this silky smooth toy around.

You can see the toy in action by going to the Nico & Zoe Toys website and choose which animal you’d like to see in action.  For only $20 each, this is a soft, durable toy that your little one will enjoy for years to come!
