Vicks Soothing Vapors Plug-In Waterless Vaporizer

Ugh.  I’m sick.  I’m SO stinkin’ sick.  I’ve been in bed for three days.  I didn’t get to enjoy Thanksgiving because my nose is stuffed, my throat is raw and I’m on FIRE.  So now it’s Saturday.  Ryan took the kids to his mothers and I’m in bed.

I am the most cliche sick person right now.  I’m lying down with the laptop on me and water by my side.  On my nightstand there’s about 3000 tissues, a bag of cough drops and some Vapo Rub.  I’ve also slapped a dollop of it on my chest and I’m attempting to breathe in the menthol love.

Thank goodness for the maker’s of Vicks products.  I was recently given the opportunity to test out some of them and they couldn’t have come at a better time. One of the items I have received is the  Vicks Soothing Vapors Plug-In Waterless Vaporizer. (more…)

Braun Thermoscan

I was recently given the opportunity to review this outstanding product from BraunThe Braun Thermoscan Exac Temp Ear Thermometer is a blessing from above in my house.  This time of year is a nightmare for everyone.  Especially since we have Joshua, our 7 month old at home and Jacob, our 3 1/2 year old in school part time.

I don’t know what it is these kids do at school, but my son is constantly coming home with something.  One week he’s coughing, the next he’s got the flu.  When he brings it home, it just slowly circulates throughout the family, so by the time one of us finally gets better, another one is sick and ready to reinfect.

Jacob has refused to have his temperature taken since birth.  He doesn’t like the unknown and seeing a thermometer coming towards him sends him running for the hills.  Heck, the KNOWN sends him running.  (more…)

Vistaprint Review and Giveaway!

If any of you have checked out my super cool and totally awesome Holiday Guide, you saw that I recommended you try out Vistaprint this Christmas.  I wanted to elaborate more on their products and services, since I really didn’t get to do it justice.

I’ve said this before-when I give gifts, I always gift from the heart.  I feel that spending time on a project far surpasses the amount of money spent.  When it comes to buying gifts for my parents and other friends and relatives, I like to create personalized gifts that capture our lives.  (more…)

Book Review-The Secret Mountain Series

Every night since I got pregnant with my first, we’ve read to him.  When I was pregnant, Ryan would rub cocoa butter on my tummy and read him “Goodnight Moon” (I know, he’s awesome).  Since his birth, we alternate putting him to bed at night but one thing remains consistent, he always gets a book.

Whatever books we read, he always memorizes them after a few readings.  The books, while we love them all, can get monotonous.  That’s why I could hardly contain my excitement when I was given A Duck In New York City, Dream Songs and Night Songs-from Belgium to Brazil and Down At The Sea Hotel to review.

The Secret Mountain describes itself as “The Secret Mountain is dedicated to the creation of children’s books, videos and audio recordings of the highest quality. Our main focus is to produce and publish stories and music that encompass the talents of songwriters, storytellers, singers, illustrators and animation artists alike.” (more…)
